What is the CPSS Qualification?

Launched in March 2011, the Cleaning Professionals Skills Suite (CPSS) is becoming the most widely used cleaning qualification in the UK and internationally.

The CPSS qualification includes three mandatory units, designed to ensure the safety of the cleaning operatives and the users of the building, and for the sustainability of the building.

Additional core skills available cover skills such as mop sweeping, wall washing and glass cleaning.

What do I need to do to achieve the CPSS Qualification?

To be awarded CPSS certification the minimum requirement is the three mandatory units. Following completion of these units a candidate achieves their MU Card and a three year membership of the institute as a Practitioner Grade member.

Further skill units can be chosen specific to the requirements of the Cleaning Operative and the environment they work within.

What skills are covered by CPSS?

  • Equipment safe use and care
  • Storage of equipment and materials
