Overall purpose of post To deliver a range of training programmes to clients and members, ensuring that programmes are fit for purpose and comply with company standards.

To contribute to the development of new training, development and learning modules, using different methodologies including classroom, practical and online, in line with the company business plan and mission statement.

To develop a sales pipeline and increase outward bound sales activity in conjunction with office based staff.

Hours of Work Varies as required to meet client needs, generally Monday to Friday

The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) is the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry providing training and education, setting standards and procedures for cleaning. BICSc membership now stands at over 10,000 individual and corporate members in the UK and Internationally.

Position Summary

Develop and deliver training programmes to UK and International Clients, either at the BBS Training Centre, the Client’s site or other locations as required


Main Duties:

  • Support the CEO with the ongoing strategic direction and development of BBS training solutions
  • Develop a sales and marketing strategy
  • Deliver BBS training programmes to clients
  • Ensure that the BBS Training Centre continuously meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of a BICSc Approved Training Centre
  • Liaise with relevant personnel, internal or external to ensure that logistics, machinery, equipment and chemical requirements are in place for delivering training programmes at the BBS Training Centre or the client’s site
  • The development of new and existing training products and services for BBS
  • Provide technical and product support to the Sales Executive and Customer Support Team
  • Engage with BBS Associates and participate in standardisation activity
  • Seek feedback on the training experience from clients, identify and implement opportunities for improvement
  • Represent BBS at events and exhibitions, promoting our products and services
  • Provide agreed reports to the CEO on key metrics
  • To already hold & maintain BICSc Licensed Assessor status
  • Develop and maintain own knowledge of BBS training products and cleaning industry.
  • Be a ‘subject matter expert’
  • Participate in internal meetings and discussions
  • Provide CPSS training to employees to enable them to complete personal development objectives
  • Complete other reasonable requests as required

Specification Essential Desirable
Education/Training BICSc Licensed Assessor

Trained and assessed as competent to teach and assess a minimum of 50% of CPSS Version 2.0 skills



Nationally recognised teaching qualification

Nationally recognised health and safety qualification

Customer service qualification

Relevant Experience A minimum of 3 years delivering practical and classroom training

A minimum of 3 years working in the cleaning or facilities management industry

Developing existing learning packages


Creating new learning packages

Developing bespoke, client specific training packages

Event or project management

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Able to use a variety of teaching methodologies to convey information to learners

Confident, capable user of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel

Having an in depth understanding of the importance of high level customer service

Ability to understand complex training products and services
