The Sad Passing of Joyce Johnson

It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the passing of our friend and colleague Joyce Johnson.

Joyce died at a care home in Southport on Saturday 18th May 2013. Her funeral will take place at Southport Crematorium on Tuesday 28th May at 2.40pm.

Joyce was a long serving member of National Council for more than a decade. She was a staunch supporter of the British Institute of Cleaning Science during her lifetime, delivering COPC and FPCC training for Diversey for over 20 years and was subsequently awarded a Fellowship of the Institute; an honour of which she was extremely proud.

She retired from both BICSc and her employment in 2009 when she was recognised with the Eric Hill Medal before starting her dream of life in Cyprus with her husband, Barrie. Unfortunately due to ill health for them both the dream came to an abrupt end with them returning to the UK in 2011. Barrie subsequently passed away in 2012.

Joyce then moved to Southport with her beloved cats to be nearer her mother and sister.

Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
