Description

The LTP covers the essential skills required for anyone working in the cleaning industry.

Everyone undertaking BICSc training must complete the LTP first as a minimum requirement to be able to understand the reasons and practicalities of safe working before progressing onto further training within the skills Suite (CPSS).

This unit has been made compulsory to protect the safety of cleaning operatives and users of buildings as well as to promote sustainability.

All candidates undertaking the LTP automatically receive 1 year’s free Individual membership with the institute.

Aims of the Licence to Practice

  • Understanding of health & Safety with the sector
  • Understanding of COSHH
  • Understanding Dynamic Risk Assessment
  • Understanding electrical safety
  • Safe use and care of equipment
  • Importance of correct dilution.

 

Course delivery of LTP and skills

The course delivery is 80% practical and interactive using a mixture of presentations, exercises and discussion sessions.

These sessions build upon knowledge, skills and behaviours expected by the industry, some of which participants may already possess. Awareness and practice of the new standards produced by The British Institute of Cleaning Science is the key objective.

Accredited Trainer

This course has been designed to enable candidates to share and cascade BICSc skills training knowledge, to allow for independent assessment and certification. Providing the skills set to ensure that your candidate comprehension and basic trainer abilities are sufficient for hands on practical training.

All candidates are issued with a unique skills card after successfully completing the training.

Additionally, candidates will also receive 1 year’s free membership to the Institute at Practitioner (PBICSc) grade.
