Dussmann Service become a BICSc Accredited Training Organisation

Dussmann Service is the largest division of the Dussmann Group. It was established in 1963, and is part of an international service company with more than 61,000 employees providing services in 22 countries across the globe. Contributing over 80 percent of total sales, Dussmann Service plays a central role in the Dussmann Group’s success.

Dussmann Service is one of the biggest players in the contract cleaning market, but they still want to grow and be the best at what they do. That means staying competitive and displaying to clients their desire for quality and high standards, and so they took the decision to become a BICSc Accredited Training Organisation (ATO).

Here Dussmann Service explains their reasons for becoming a BICSc ATO.

Why did you decide to become a BICSc Accredited Training Organisation (ATO)?

Given that the FM market is extremely competitive, we wanted to improve the standard of service that we provide to our customers by becoming certified with an internationally recognised association (BICSc). We felt that the design of the training met the needs of both our employees and clients, and there are many opportunities for our employees to put into practice the skills and knowledge that they’ve gained from the training.

How did you find the ATO set up process?

One of the best things about taking the accreditation was how easy it was to set up and implement. BICSc guided us through the whole process. It was very straight forward, and everyone involved mentioned that the training was easy to follow and understand.

How do you think BICSc will make a difference in your organisation?

From a business perspective, there is no doubt that this will help us to get new clients on board. It will add value to our entire cleaning operation, and especially to the on-site team, who can now follow the correct colour coding and can adhere to more efficient cleaning processes. We are expecting an improvement in hygiene and safety standards by following the codes and its standards.

Is there any staff feedback so far?

All the staff, involved in the training, have given positive feedback. The consensus is that it provided our employees with helpful information and improved knowledge on cleaning processes. Another huge benefit was that the training helped them to boost their self-esteem in work, and they reported back that they feel a lot better about the work they do. Some of our staff said they felt more professional as a result of this enhanced training, and accreditation.

Dussmann Service has demonstrated that becoming accredited not only improves the chances of getting more clients, but also leads to cleaning operatives feeling more professional about the work they do. Becoming accredited demonstrates to present and potential clients your firm’s commitment to high standards, and in an industry where a lack of control and poor quality service is rife, getting a standard such as this can make you stand out from the crowd.
